| Discuss! First Teaser The countdown to this year's winter update has started. From this update you can expect new areas with a new city, new quests, new monsters, new raids, new party features, and much more. From now on until the update, we will present you more detailed information on certain aspects of the update in our so-called Update Teaser series.
Today we would like to introduce you to Yalahar, an ancient city that has developed greatly over time. Its inhabitants, the Yalahari, belonged to one of the most intelligent races that were created during the God Wars. They did not see any purpose in sacrificing themselves in this war, so they withdrew from the raging battles and found refuge on one of the northern islands. There, they quickly established this city with the help of their minions and pursued their quest for knowledge and science. During their research, they stumbled across an entity that seemed to be living in a place that existed somehow between worlds, somehow between existence and non-existence. They decided to name this entity Variphor. Their initial thrill to have discovered something that spectacular was soon replaced by fear. Variphor was vicious by nature and had gained enough power to influence the Yalahari in a negative way. He manipulated them to fight each other and in a night of slaughter many of them died. To avoid a complete destruction of what they had accomplished, the Yalahari fled from the island and left the city to their minions. Without their masters, they tried very hard to keep everything running. However, soon they were overcome with vanity, enjoying the luxury that now belonged to them. Some of the former minions even started to pretend to be the real Yalahari.
Rumour has it that one of the true Yalahari has returned in the meantime though, influenced by Variphor, to bring destruction upon the world. So be careful whom to trust and try to find out if you are dealing with an enemy or a friend if you meet a Yalahari.
The nine quarters that once formed Yalahar became pretty run down over time. Some were completely destroyed, others were invaded by criminals, so the former minions of the Yalahari had to retreat to the inner city.
Still today, the nine quarters of Yalahar can be recognised. Most criminals that have invaded Yalahar have gathered in the former trade quarter, which is located close to the harbour. From this location, arriving merchant ships can be observed closely and traders can be robbed easily - a perfect place for the evil-minded. Immigrants of many different races live in the foreigner quarter. Orcs, elves, minotaurs, humans - all share this area, which is far from being peaceful, as you can probably imagine. Many fancy machines and traces of secret sources of energy can still be seen in the factory quarter. However, all knowledge to use these devices has disappeared with the Yalahari. The former alchemist quarter, the main area of science, looks as if it was destroyed by a major explosion. The ruins of the laboratories and the mutated creatures hint at the dangerous experiments that once were conducted there. In the cemetery quarter, the dead have taken over completely and the former buildings and crypts now only serve as a place for necromantic rituals. The magician quarter does not look as run down as the others, but it is inhabited by many dark and evil sorcerers. Once in a while you can still find a helping soul there, but you are advised to be very cautious if you want to visit this place. At one part of this quarter, the surface of the earth has broken open and creatures of hell try to come to the surface. The sunken quarter was once part of Yalahar, but the entire area broke from the land and sunk into the sea, as the name already says. The arena and zoo quarter once served as a recreation area to the Yalahari. Now, all animals run free, their enclosures are destroyed and former gladiators stray around the area mazily to find opponents. Last but not least, the inner city, to which the minions had retreated, is the only part of Yalahar, which is considered to be safe. Many traders have settled in this calm and quiet place, and the few houses that can be rented in this part of the city reflect the former wealth and luxury that Yalahar once was blessed with.
We hope that you will enjoy discovering the mysteries of this city. For further pictures, please have a look at our supported fansites.
Get ready for this year's winter update! Your Community Managers Second Teaser As we have already announced in the first update teaser, you can expect several new party features from the upcoming winter update.
First of all, there will be a party-chat channel. That way you can easily communicate with all party members. In the past, many players have criticised that members of a party that stand very close to a killed creature have an advantage when checking the corpse for loot. The rest of the party members had to trust that they were not betrayed. After the winter update, all party members will be informed of the loot at the same time in the new party-chat channel:
Since over seventy percent of participating Tibia players said in a poll that they like to team up for hunts, most of you will probably be pleased to hear that we will implement a shared experience bonus if you hunt in a party. You will only profit from this bonus if the monsters you are hunting yield over twenty experience points. In a party, this should not be difficult at all.
In addition to these new features, we will also implement party buffs. Party buffs will be premium spells, but if cast, free account players will of course be buffed as well. If you have learnt such a spell, you will definitely be a well-liked member in every hunting party.
The party buffs affect an area around the caster. Of course, the caster himself will also benefit from the spell. Every affected player will be able to see this new status in the condition indicator. It will be displayed as a green arrow pointing upwards. This new status "strengthened" will appear for every temporary positive change of skills. For instance, you will also see the green arrow if you are boosting your power with a ring. The needed mana to cast a party buff depends on the amount of party members that will be affected. For every further member, the costs will be slightly higher.
Every vocation will have its own party buff. Knights will be able to raise the weapon skills of party members, whereas paladins will be able to raise the shielding, and sorcerers the magic level. Since druids are already known as great healers, they will receive an additional party healing spell. If a druid casts Heal Party all affected teammates will receive a small healing every two seconds, for a period of 2 minutes.
In addition to these party buffs, there will be further new support spells for knights and paladins. Knights will be able to learn two new spells, the Protector spell and the Blood Rage spell. However, these spells cannot be used at the same time. If both have been learnt though, they can easily be switched at an NPC for a small fee.
The Protector spell will double the knight's shielding for a couple of seconds. Concentrating on his protection, a knight will not be able to attack his opponent though for this period of time. The Blood Rage spell on the other hand, will drastically increase all weapon skills, however, concentrating on his attack, a knight will neglect his defense.
Paladins can also learn two new spells, the Swift Foot and the Sharpshooter spell. Just as knights, they cannot use both spells simultaneously, but easily switch the spells at an NPC. The Swift Foot spell will enable a paladin to run very fast for a couple of seconds. Logically, a paladin cannot attack during such a sprint. The Sharpshooter spell will drastically increase the distance skill, however, a paladin aiming that sharply will not be able to walk quickly, or to pay much attention to any defense or healing.
Knights will receive one further spell in the winter update, the Charge spell. When this spell is cast, they will run as fast as the wind for a few seconds, having no trouble anymore to chase an opponent that is about to run away. Paladins will also be able to learn another spell. This spell will enable them to create Holy Missile runes, which will make it a lot easier for them to be prepared for any upcoming fights. Holy Missile runes can only be created and used by paladins. Last but not least, one spell for druids will be revised. The Wild Growth spell will become a rune spell, which will enable druids to place a wild growth correctly when running away from an enemy. The Wild Growth runes will be useless for any other vocation.
We hope that you will enjoy the upcoming new party features and the new spells! Your Community ManagersThird Teaser y now, you have all heard of the ancient city Yalahar which is situated on one of the northern islands. The inhabitants of Yalahar are currently confronted with a terrible threat. Many people live in fear. Rumours have it that vampires were seen roaming the city, and some folks even claim that their next door neighbours have turned into such creatures of the night. Distrust is widely spread, not even friends trust each other any longer. People suspect undercover vampires, no matter who they meet. Julius, one of the braver inhabitants of Yalahar, has decided to get to the bottom of these lurid tales and is recruiting brave adventurers to help him in his quest to save Yalahar. If you are courageous enough and want to help, you will have to prove that you are not a vampire to gain his trust. In Julius's theory, the threat of Yalahar originates on one of the other islands around Yalahar. There are Mistrock, Fenrock and Vengoth. He suspects Vengoth to be the cause of all evil, an island, that is feared by many, since nobody who ever set sail for this island has ever returned. Some foreign shipmen have spread the word that they have seen an old haunted castle on Vengoth.
Who knows? If these stories are all true, and you are the one to solve all the mysteries of Vengoth, maybe the inhabitants of Yalahar will be able to sleep safely again at night.
There are several more mysteries about the northern islands. If you talk to the guards in Yalahar, they will have many stories at hand for you. Maybe some of their hints will set you off for another exciting adventure? For example, there is another tale that concerns a long lost tribe of dwarfs that allegedly settled on one of the islands around Yalahar. Once a brave warrior has returned from a journey and vividly described a huge city that he had discovered, inhabited by dwarfs, but nobody believed him.
Perhaps his story was true though? Maybe the dwarfs that live in Kazordoon today would know more about it....?
Enjoy the mysteries of this winter update! Your Community Managers

| Fourth Teaser This year's winter update will not only bring several new features, but also a couple of changes of already existing things. We would like to present you some of these changes and give you a little bit more information on what kind of new things you can expect.
Once you have found your way to Yalahar and have gotten accustomed to the surroundings and the inhabitants there, you will be able to dress up in the Yalaharian style. The following artwork might give you an idea of what the Yalaharian fashion will look like:
Yalahari
As already mentioned, the winter update will not only bring new things, though. As you might have noticed, we have carried through an in-depth hunting ground analysis just recently. Your feedback concerning hunting grounds was very much appreciated and inspired most of the following changes.
First of all, we have often heard that going on a hunt and coming home with your backpacks fully loaded does not always cover the initial costs for the hunt. So hunting does not always pay off. As you have informed us, it was sometimes difficult to sell your collected treasures when you came home from an exhausting adventure. For this reason, we have convinced Rashid to enlarge his warehouse and to take on more of your goods. After this update, he will buy many further things from you, for example, all elemental armor sets, platinum amulets and several mid- to high-level weapons among several other things. To keep up with Rashid, also a couple of other traders have broadened their purchase of goods.
First addon
We have also often heard that hunting stronger monsters was sometimes a bit frustrating since your bravery was not rewarded generously enough. We hope that after the update, being brave is worth the risk again and that you will not return from great adventures disappointed anymore. We have adjusted the loot and the experience points of several monsters. The experience points that you receive from hunting the monsters of the Pits of Inferno, like the hands of cursed fate, the undead dragons, the lost souls, the betrayed wraiths and the juggernauts, for instance, have been raised immensely. Also, if you have proven your courage in the Pits of Inferno already, you might want to look around a bit. Maybe you will discover a secret path that will get you to the Pits of Inferno much quicker. Not only the monsters of the Pits of Inferno have received a boost, though. Other monsters that were adjusted according to your feedback are hydras, cyclops's, the sea serpents and the young sea serpents, for example.
Second addon
Our analysis of hunting grounds has also shown that the bog raider, for example, was too weak. He did not seem to be any challenge for you at all. So in order to be able to defend himself better, he has been given some extensive training to make his muscles grow.
After hearing your feedback, the earth elementals that had inhabited the surface of Tiquanda did not feel very welcome there anymore. So they decided to move on and to retreat to their own dungeons.
You did not only give us feedback about monsters, though. You also wished for a couple of changes in existing events. So we followed your advise and enhanced a couple of events that will take place in the first half of the next year. For example, the dryads that are roaming several forests in June have collected many more seeds during their journeys, so you will be able to grow a larger variety of flowers, if you manage to steal some from them. You also might remember the jesters that have set foot on Tibia last April with their pockets full of fish. Rumor has it that they are not that keen on fish anymore. They still like it, but they have more room now in their pockets for other things. If you come across any jesters again, you might want to take the time to deal with as many of them as possible. You might be surprised by what they carry with them, and they might even provide you with items that will enable you to create something to remember them by.
Houses!
If you enjoy decorating your house, you will like to hear that this year's winter update will also bring further cool new items for you to put up. For example, you will be able to choose from further tapestries to give your home a different look and there will be a couple of new crystals for you, too that will bring many different colors into your house. Not all new decorative items will have a colorful and friendly look, though. If you prefer to express your evilness to people walking by, rather than your happy nature, you will enjoy the blood goblet, the blood skull and the dracoyle statue. With these items in your house, people will fear you before they have even met you. However please note, that most of these new items cannot be bought in any shops. You will find them during your adventures to carry them home like trophies.
Thanks to the Cipsoft team for releasing this teaser! Wow, doesn't it look great?!

But on topic, I think that this update is really nice, according to those first teasers. This gonna make party hunts more popular, which i think is great thing. Knights can aslo do something on war, because that ml buff allows knights with ml 8 to use mw's. Hopefully that rage spell increases your skills so much, that you can do "easily" 300+hits with egran. Good update for knight, I think, and good for knigts is always good for me :p | |
